[Article] New look in your homepage, Contents Mashups updated with new features

One thing we spend alots of time last week is the interface desgin of the Muecs.com. We were trying to do and improve the interface become more friendly to use. Because we got feedback from people, this group of people came from difference computer level background, some of them are beginner or should say a basic level user, and some of them are more advance. Sometimes is very hard to determine what and how should be the best for everyone. Yes, it is. But this is what every websites and softwares most challenging part in the development. In development team, we need to keep doing suvery or receive E-mail from people's feedback and commnet about it. Digest and analysis a good solution for the problem. And yes, that's why Muecs and all other websites are updating to better and better. 1. Last week, Muecs just updated the interface of user homepage. Some common links have put on the user account section. We have changed the layout trying to give a clean and user friendly interface for all of you. 2. We have implemented an User Tips on the homepage. The feature of User Tips are mainly dsiaply in the hoempage provide some recommendation, and advices to the account owner. The User Tips are dynamically display when it trigger the user need assistance on using the web functionalities or navigation.
3. New services have been added in Muecs Contentes Mashups, in the last updated. We are integrated MetaCafe, SlideShare, and Last.Fm service in Contents Mashups. As we said before, more web site services will be put in. We give more choice and media contents for poeple use, share and discuss with friends.

Below screen shot is Metacafe example in Contents Mashups.

One more thing, for short messaging and bookmarking service, we have add the post function in the site. Those function will appear when the specific services added by you. Example show on below.

This is a very good explaination video to show what is a mashups in the Internet.

We have added 'Share This!' button on the content mashups this week.
The purpose of this is to enable people to share their mashups contents to their friends more efficiency and directly.

Currently, "ShareThis!" supported mashups contents share for Youtube, Flickr, Digg.com, Delicious, Muecs Bookmarks, and RSS Feeds.

On every contents (videos, pictures, links.etc) It appears the "Share This!" button with the stand share icon

Simply, 3 steps to share the contents you want to tell your friends.
1- Input title about your contents
2- Select friends your want to share with
3- type any message if your want, and Submit

Your friends will receive the shared contents through Message Inbox.

Look back to my old hard-disk today, it was supprise that I have done some nice web- design teamplate in some projects back then.

Those web template I used to demo to the client what will be looks like in their web site.
Yes, I know I 'm not great in art and desgin stuffs, my brain is full of logical but at least this things impress myself. :)

I just uploaded one of my previous project brain-storm templates here, want to share with you guys.

[Article] Activites coming up, let your friends know your parties!

We are currntly releasing new features called Activities in beginning of May, 2008.
When people login their account in Muecs, they will find a link on the right hand side in their account shortcut section.

Here is an example of my account's shortcut section :

This features has already included in everyone's account, you can use it anytime when you login.

Let me have an introduction of it:

What's is it do?

It's basically are features for community to share their events, activities, or parties on the Internet.
People in Muecs are able to look for the activites that is interesting for them around their location.
Although this is not any new features, which it have already in some free or required fees groupware. We still want to made this as one of the features in Muecs, because we think this is a construcitve tools for people to communicate and discovery friend interesting via viewing their participate activites.

The screenshot below is the demo of the Activities page. Form this page, you can broswe your current participating activites, pass activities reviews, and some suggested activities that sourced by location around you.

The Activites are still in developing, we hope everything will implment and running with the web site at the end of May. We are going to release a version 1 beta of Activities first, which include all functions that allow activites hoster to create, invite and manage the activites. People can interact with each other about the activities they join in by posting comments, or review.

What will be working in next version?

As we can see the version 1 beta only allow text message post in review, which is not "cool enough".
We will focus on improve the Activites Review in the next version. There will allow people to post multimedia contents(videos, photos) in the Activites Review. For example, when people took some photos or videos during the activities, after that day they could upload their media contents in the review section, sharing with others. We will try to integrate with some popular video streaming or photos sharing web sites(such as Youtube, Flickr, Metacafe), to allow people import their contents if they already upload on those services.

[Article] Muecs include some flash game for people?

Someone asked me if there will put some Flash games in Muecs for people to play and campare points with their friends etc....
Well, this idea just like some Facebook Apps that could share and view friends point in those Flash game.

But I think, this wouldn't be do it now on Muecs. First, this is the main scale of our web site, we are now focusing on provide web applications as a useful tools for use to manage their content and communicate.
Well, maybe later I will consider of that.

by the way, just went to some flash game web site.
I found a very cool game, personally I am big fans of motor sports, and it's like very cool game. Check it out.

The service allows you to collect other external web site contents, blog post, photos or videos in a single place. It provide benefit to you avoid spending time login over and over on some service. All your favorite stuffs or bookmarked contents will gather and show in your Muecs homepage.
